The “Fiera del Cocomero” (“Watermelon Fair”) returns to Castellina in Chianti on Saturday 24 August.
An anniversary that, recovered at the end of the 1980’s, has its origins in a peasant fair that took place in Castellina after the war.
The fair is characterized by an extraordinary edition of the market that involves the entire historic center of the country (from Via IV Novembre to Via Trento and Trieste, via Via delle Mura) and which lasts from morning to late evening.
The watermelon is obviously a great protagonist. Gastronomic stands at the Parco delle Casce; music from 9pm in Piazza del Comune.
