There’s another delightful occasion to stock up with all sorts of treats at Villa a Sesta. And this time, it’ll be in the name of solidarity.
On Saturday 2nd and Sunday 3rd December the Christmas edition of the ethical market Mercat’Unto will take place.
This market will offer a selection of products from areas of Italy affected by the earthquake, that still need everyone’s support.
After last year’s success, the volunteers of Castelnuovo Berardenga have returned to central Italy to buy pork cured meat and other typical food products directly from the local “norcinerie”.
The market will be hosted in the Circolo Arci in Villa a Sesta on Saturday 2nd December from 3pm to 9pm, and on Sunday 3rd December from 10am to 9pm.
Here you’ll find typical culinary products purchased directly from local businesses that had been affected by the earthquake; tasting of the traditional dishes of Amatrice and Norcia. You’ll also have the chance to create beautiful gift baskets.
From Amatrice: pasta, jams, and cheeses; from the Marche’s mountains: Christmas sweets, wines and ciauscolo salame; from Norcia: pork cured meat, lentils, legumes, honey and saffron.
A delicious afternoon snack, the Taglier’Unto, costs 10 euros (various cheeses, including matured stracchino, and a variety of cured meat and butchery products such as coppa, lonzino, coglioni di mulo, sausages, bruschetta, thyme-flavoured potato and seasoned beans).
Tasting lunch and dinner: pasta all’amatriciana (5 euros), nursina soup (4 euros), lentils and ciauscolo salame (6 euros), IGT Casale Nibbi white and red wine, (4 euros per bottle, 2 euros per glass). Homemade desserts € 3.50.
