Saturday, July 15, at 9 PM is the inauguration of the personal show by the Florentine artist, Luca Viviani, at the Osservatorio Polifunzionale del Chianti. It is entitled “Stelle di carta”.
There will be a selection of linocuts (created by incisions on linoleum) which are part of the iconic apparatus from the book,“Stelle di carta” (Ed. Oèdipus, 2016.) by Viviani.
In it, Luca Viviani ties his work of “arte astronomica” to some citations and meditations on the universe from texts of celebrated antique and modern thinkers.
Each work of art on display echoes the words of scientists, literary figures and philosophers: from Gemino (1st century BC) to Italo Calvino, from Luciano di Samostata (2nd century AD.) to Mario Rigoni Stern, as well as Erasmo of Rotterdam, Giordano Bruno, Immanuel Kant, Jules Verne, Raymond Queneau and many others.
It is a trip around the universe through art and literature accompanied by the temporary outlook from the works and thoughts of Luca Viviani, who presents his artistic and editorial project.
“The stars have left numerous signs on my life, “ says the author, “intricate traces produced by the incessant rains of radiation which through windows and walls, fall upon walks and hit the terraces. Over the years, like a modern cave man, I have painted on the dark walls of my brain a miniscule replica of this celestial face which I now observe seated at the center of my mind; the only visitor to this miniscule sentimental planet.
