An appointment with food, wine and art will be returning to Monsanto on Saturday, September 10, and Sunday, September 11 in Piazza Ugo Cianferoni.
The piazza will be transformed into an open air theater thanks to “Calici d’Arte” (Goblets of Art), promoted by the Territory and in its fifth edition, born and created in this small village immersed in the Chianti hills.
The grand wines of Florentine Chianti Classico are the protagonists of the event. Wine tasting will be available thanks to the participation of some of the most important wineries of the territory.
The following wineries will be represented: Castello della Paneretta, Castello di Monsanto, Fattoria La Ripa, Fattoria Le Fonti, Il Campino, Isole e Olena, Poggio al Chiuso and Quercia al Poggio.
The wine tasting and food stands will open at 5 PM. In addition to tasting the great wines of Chianti Classico, you can attend shows created to promote the many talents of the area.
The entertainment will begin on Saturday at 6 PM, with the music of the C&C Duet. An important name in Florentine and Italian theater and cinema will be performing live; Sergio Forconi.
The historic face of Tuscan comedy will present his show, ”Stasera Cabaret; Occhio a quei due!” (Cabaret Tonight, Watch out for those two!), starring Giovanni Lepri. On Sunday, September 11, at 5 PM in the open air Theatre of Monsanto is an event dedicated to children of all ages, thanks to the”Allegra Compagnia di Vicolao” which will present “The story of the lion who didn’t know how to write”.
The theater company, created in 2014 following the involvement of the parents of the nursery school of Vico d’Elsa, consists of non-professional actors, mostly parents, who have been telling their children stories and fairy tales for years and who now bring them to life on the stage.
At 6 PM, Ballo Dance Team Blu will present an exhibition. And for the grand finale: raise your eyes to the sky and live a unique experience, a “Musical Trip into the Universe”, thanks to “Il Banchetto” and the astonomers of Arcetri, Francesco Fantani and Marialuce Bruscoli. On both days, in piazza, there will be an exhibition of the paintings of Renzo Regoli, the sculptures of Paolo Marandi and the photographs of Francesco Bruni.
