Saturday, December 17 to 2pm at the Chapel of San Michele Arcangelo in Semifonte (Barberino Val d’Elsa) will hold a traveling conference of the research project presentation on Semifonte by the University of Florence.
The event is organized and sponsored by the City of the Florentine Chianti in collaboration with the Archaeological Group Achu, with the contribution of the Museum System of the Chianti and Valdarno Fiorentino.
The hills of Val d’Elsa, on which stands the Chapel of San Michele Arcangelo, retain few but significant traces of Semifonte mythical. On the ancient foundation are still many questions: where he was, what was its extent, how they lived its inhabitants.
In a case like this archeology can provide answers. A walk through places of Semifonte will be an opportunity to share the research project, under development at the University of Florence, which starts from the observation of the current landscape.
Reservations required by e-mail at archeoachu@gmail.com. The seats are limited. In case of severe weather the initiative will be postponed.
We recommend appropriate clothing for a walk in the fields (walking shoes, comfortable pants, jacket).
