Between Monsanto and Santedame, colored autumn vineyards, ancient hamlets and the ruins of the castle of Cepparello hidden in the woods.

We are in the area between Barberino Val d’Elsa and San Donato in Poggio, in the most beautiful Chianti overlooking San Gimignano.

Here, Sunday 10 November, Le Vie del Chianti organized a walk in unusual and beautiful places. Our route winds along the gentle hills covered with woods and vineyards.

Ancient villages and ancient castles: Monsanto, the Paneretta castle, the Ruffino di Santedame, Isole and Olena estates, the ancient ruins of the fortress of Cepparello hidden in the woods.

And yet the remote and evocative village of Olena, unforgettable and suspended in time.

Chianti in autumn is the essence of beauty: a triumph of colors, smells, flavors. History lives on these ancient roads and the landscapes stretch out like shadows.

A visit to a particular farm is also planned: the smallest of the Chianti Classico, “Il Campino”, where for over 200 years a family has been carrying on the farming tradition of making wine. And of course you can’t miss a taste.
