The Tuscan “schiacciata con l’olio” is perfect when stuffed with mortadella, ham, or finocchiona, but you can also try it on its own. It tastes heavenly when it’s warm, straight out of the oven.

Lucolena dedicates a festival to this typical flat bread, the Schiacciata con l’Olio Festival. It’ll be held on Saturday 15th and Sunday 16th June in Lucolena, a lovely hamlet surrounded by chestnut groves .

It’s organized by the Pro Loco of Lucolena, and sponsored by the Municipality of Greve in Chianti.

During the Festival the stalls will be open from 10am to 10pm, selling fresh schiacciate, plain or stuffed, made right there in front of your eyes. A craft market will colour the streets of Lucolena.

During the festival, there will be other food stalls open for lunch and dinner. Info: 3664541148.
