In Greve in Chianti it wouldn’t be Easter Monday without the open-air market that enlivens the town every year the day after Easter (April 22nd this year).

This is one of the Chianti’s most beloved events, much awaited both by locals and tourists.

The “Things from the Past” Market (Mercatino delle Cose del Passato) will be held in Piazza Matteotti (and surrounding streets) in Greve in Chianti: you’ll find dozens of vendors with antique furniture, embroidery, pottery, antiques and cool curiosities.

An afternoon trip to Greve in Chianti is the traditional way to spend Easter Monday in the Florentine Chianti.

Here, after exploring the various stalls (many unique items arrive in town for this occasion), you can have a meal or a delicious snack in one of Greve’s restaurants, bars or try some local delights from the food vendors who prepare their specialties on Easter Monday.
