Chianti focuses more and more on wedding tourism: meeting on 8th April in San Casciano

The Chianti area is increasingly focusing on “wedding tourism”.

In this regard the municipalities of the Ambito Turistico Territoriale Chianti (Barberino Tavarnelle, Castellina in Chianti, Castelnuovo Berardenga, Greve in Chianti, Radda in Chianti, San Casciano) are organising a meeting for the professionals who work in the tourist sector, with the aim of sharing promotion strategies of the Regione Toscana regarding wedding tourism.

The meeting will be held on Monday 8th April – from 3pm to 5pm – in the Auditorium ChiantiBanca, in Piazza Arti e Mestieri 1, in San Casciano Val di Pesa.

The Mayors and administrators of the Ambito Turistico Chianti, the representatives of Toscana Promozione Turistica, the Convention & Visitors Bureau of Florence and the Centro Studi Turistici of Florence will participate.

The meeting’s objectives and agenda: to provide useful information about the “wedding as a tourist product” in terms of economic and tourist development of the area, travel motivation, marketing opportunities for the territory; to inform on the current offering in this sector, also thanks to the survey carried out by the CST in Tuscany.

To gather and discuss ideas, tips and critical points with those who work in the sector (particularly the wedding planners) both to improve the offering and to meet their needs in terms of information and communication tools regarding the destination; collecting ideas and proposals, assessing availability of the area in order to enhance wedding as a tourist product.

To launch a possible collaboration with the Florence Convention Bureau which promotes the “Tuscany for weddings” project on behalf of the Regione Toscana around the world.
