Five wine producers, all located in Tuscany. An area of 250 hectares and a total of 1 million 200 thousand bottles of wine produced every year.

50% of it is sold on the Italian market, while the remaining 50% is exported to foreign markets, including the United States, Germany, Switzerland and the Far East.

This is the world of Tenute Folonari, composed of five properties, one of which is located in the heart of the Chianti Classico, in Greve in Chianti territory: Tenuta di Nozzole and Tenute del Cabreo (Greve in Chianti), Tenuta La Fuga (Montalcino), Campo al Mare (Castagneto Carducci), Vigne in Porrona (Montecucco).

The Folonari wineries have developed various new projects in recent years: 2018 has seen the birth of a new image and a new production philosophy for the wines of Tenute del Cabreo.

It was decided to focus on fruit and elegance rather than wood as distinctive elements of the new production style.

A new packaging, sober and elegant, places the wines of Tenute del Cabreo at the top of the entire company production.

The line is composed of Cabreo il Borgo Toscana IGT, the wine which is a real icon of their production, La Pietra IGT Chardonnay Toscana and Black Toscana IGT, an unprecedented version of wine made from Pinot Nero grapes entirely produced in Tuscany.

At the beginning of 2017, the Folonari family also started the project to relaunch the Chianti Classico wines of Tenuta di Nozzole.

They put their wines on the market with completely new packaging and with sensory notes more suited to the demands and tastes of international buyers, but adhering strictly to the typical Sangiovese single-variety wine making.

The aim is to enhance each type of wine, staying faithful to the standards of quality set by the Chianti Classico.

Their range is composed of: Nozzole Chianti Classico DOCG, La Forra Chianti Classico Riserva DOCG and Giovanni Folonari Chianti Classico Gran Selezione DOCG. Each label represents the best expression of the respective designation.

The Progetto Chianti Classico was preceded by the launch of the Baby Super Tuscan (BST), in the fall of 2016.

While the Chianti Classico represents tradition, with the BST, Ambrogio and Giovanni Folonari Tenute have reinterpreted the Super Tuscan, presenting two very distinctive products.

These wines are in fact not aged in wood, and therefore have a more immediate, pleasant and supple taste.

Apart from their wine production, Tenute Folonari offer a new kind of hospitality and a special way to experience the Tuscan landscape. There are four upscale residences located within three estates: in Greve in Chianti you find the Borgo del Cabreo, the first charming relais, the Villa and the Casavecchia di Nozzole; and La Fuga in Montalcino.
