The second edition of Wedding in Chianti, held at the prestigious Villa Le Corti on Saturday 6th and Sunday 7th October, attracted many visitors, including professionals in the sector and couples planning their wedding.

The Location Tour was one of the special free events of this second edition, which included a visit to some of the most beautiful agriturismi and villas near San Casciano Val di Pesa.

During these two days various tours – departing from Villa Le Corti – were organised to visit three very special locations, with a half hour stop in each place.

This year the organisers of the event (promoted by the Pro Loco of San Casciano, in collaboration with the Municipality) included five locations in the tour: Agriturismo La Loggia, Castello di Bibbione, Villa Poggio Torselli, Castello Il Palagio and Villa Mangiacane.

“The Location Tour – explain the organisers – is a unique opportunity for couples and wedding planners to visit beautiful mansions where it’s possible to officiate wedding ceremonies. It’s also a great way to promote tourism in our area”.

WeChianti took part in one of the tours, and had a chat with two Brazilian wedding planners, who organise weddings for Brazilian couples in Tuscany and other Italian regions.

“Our customers love the idea of the Chianti for their wedding venue – the wedding planners Fernanda and Giseli explain – because of the lovely villages and the beautiful hills of vineyards and olive groves”.

Fattoria La Loggia and Castello di Bibbione, two of the three locations that we visited, seemed to meet expectations of Brazilian couples who are looking for ancient hamlets surrounded by vineyards and olive groves. Here you have the opportunity to fully experience the welcoming Tuscan rural tradition.

We then reached the majestic third location, the Villa Poggio Torselli, where many important personalities used to live, such as Russian Tsar Paolo I and Pope Pio VII.

Rooms have frescoed ceilings and chandeliers, the living rooms and meeting rooms are richly furnished, and an Italian-style garden surrounds the villa, from which you can enjoy a spectacular view over the entire valley. Villa Poggio Torselli is a real jewel.

“The Chianti – Fernanda and Giseli conclude – has so many beautiful treasures and a unique beauty that the whole world envies”.
