Tuscany remains the top destination chosen by foreigners for their weddings (31.8%).
This is confirmed by the Centro Studi Turistici of Florence with the Destination Weddings in Italy 2016 research, at the press conference organized by Toscana Promozione Turistica and Destination Florence Convention and Visitors Bureau at nu Ovo restaurant, the latest gastronomic adventure by Grand Hotel Cavour.
On this occasion, Alberto Peruzzini, Director of Toscana Promozione Turistica, announced the renewed collaboration with Destination Florence CVB for the promotion of the territory in the international wedding market.
Two years after the official agreement has been signed, which includes numerous co-branding activities such as participation in the most important trade fairs, the Tuscany for Weddings project, a DFCVB business unit dedicated to weddings, is constantly growing.
The data presented by Alessandro Tortelli, Scientific Director of the Centro Studi Turistici of Florence (Centre for Tourism Studies) confirmed an increased interest for traditional locations such as historic residences and a gradual shift towards the off-peak season.
The months from May to September are still preferred.
