The Chianti League celebrates its history in Siena’s Cathedral

On Saturday 28^th October a procession bearing the gold and red coloured cloaks of the Chianti League left the Accademia Chigiana to reach the Santa Maria Assunta Cathedral of Siena, where the Capitolo Annuale and the Investiture Ceremony took place.

Monsignor Luciano Giovannetti, Bishop of Fiesole, celebrated the Mass together with other priests. He’s a prestigious member – Legato di Collare and Correttore – of the Chianti League.

The Capitano Generale, Barone Giovanni Ricasoli Firidolfi presented him with a heart-felt gift, on the occasion of the 60^th anniversary of his ordination.

At the end of the liturgy, the interesting and solemn Investiture ceremony for the new members was held by the Capitano Generale.

Sounds and images, gestures and promises have taken us back in time, in the name of those values ​​that have always distinguished the beautiful Chianti region.

The League of Chianti has always aimed at protecting and enhancing this land, in the past by using the sword, today with words – promoting the culture, history and art of this extraordinary territory.
