Next Sunday we’ll celebrate the rural identity and rich heritage of the Chianti region with Tavarnelle Bio & Food, the fair dedicated to organic excellence.

It takes place on October 15th from 10am to 8pm in Piazza Matteotti, via Roma and Piazza Cresti at the initiative of the Municipality of Tavarnelle, and organized by Colleventi. This is a precious opportunity for promotion and communication, an occasion for producers and consumers to come together in the name of quality products.

The rich program includes a trade show dedicated to organic food and wine, a handicraft market and an open-air playground for children.

Tavarnelle Bio & Food is the place where people who love and work the land, meet those who appreciate local food traditions and contemporary gastronomic culture.

This is an art to be handed down, innovated and enhanced with an eye to typical products and local traditions.

Thirty companies, from the agricultural and handicraft sector, will take part in the event, coming from the Chianti, Valdelsa and Florentine territories.

A place of honour will be reserved for the ancient grains and the flour made from them, illustrated by the miller of Montespertoli’s Associazione Grani Antichi, and the wild mushrooms and herbs exhibited by the mycological association “Cimballo” of Colle Val d’Elsa.

For the little ones there will be a small teaching farm with hens, rabbits, goats, and also donkeys and ponies for the children to ride. Tavarnelle’s squares will host old-fashioned games and traditional activities, bringing back evocative images of its past.

The shops of the Centro Commerciale Naturale will also be open. Free entrance.
