The Connecticut Lyric Opera in collaboration with the town of Greve in Chianti and its School of Music, is promoting an initiative with its students and teachers as protagonists.

It will begin on June 18 in piazza Matteotti and will continue until July 7 with a list of performances which alternate operas like “la Boheme” by Puccini and Mozart’s “Don Giovanni with concerts of classical music that will take place in the church of Greve and in Piazza Landi in Strada in Chianti.

“The particularity of this season”, comments the town councilor of culture, Lorenzo Lotti, “is that it aims to offer a quality proposal to visitors of our territory and is the result of an artistic collaboration between Italian musicians and new promises of US bel canto, a tradition that took roots in Greve 22 years ago thanks to the master class by Daniel Ferro, docent of lyrical opera at the prestigious Juilliard School of New York, who passed away last year”.

Students will spend an entire month in Greve where they will learn how to put together shows.
